Bio
A Third Team NJCAA Division I All-American, Ridgnal became the first freshman All-American in the men's basketball program since Sonny Maynard in the 1955-56 season. Ridgnal recorded 20 double-doubles and averaged 16.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Prior to being named an All-American, Ridgnal was named a First Team All-Region VI and All-Conference selection, the Jayhawk East Freshman of the Year, and was named to the Region VI All-Tournament Team.

Following a stellar sophomore season which saw him help the Cowley College men’s basketball team to a national runner-up finish, Dalen Ridgnal was named the Junior College Male Athlete of the Year at the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission Sports Banquet held Thursday at the Downtown Drury Plaza-Broadview in Wichita, KS.

Cowley College 2021 Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Dalen Ridgnal and Lubna Suied, are among the finalists for the Junior College Male and Female Athletes of the Year at the 23rd Annual Greater Wichita Awards Ceremony which will be held Thursday, July 1 at the Downtown Drury Plaza-Broadview in Wichita, KS.

Leading the Cowley College men’s basketball team to unprecedent heights over the past two seasons, Cowley College recently had four sophomores sign with four-year schools.

The honors continue to pour in for Cowley College sophomore Dalen Ridgnal. The 6-foot-seven forward was recently named just the third, two-time All-American in the history of the Tiger men’s basketball program.

Wrapping up storybook careers at Cowley College, sophomores Dalen Ridgnal and Lubna Suied were named the school’s Male and Female Athletes of the Year at a luncheon held Wednesday in the Patrick J. McAtee Dining Center.

Coming off a record-setting season, the Cowley College men’s basketball team had a pair of players, Dalen Ridgnal and Mike’l Henderson, garner All-Region honors. While, the Lady Tiger basketball team had sophomore Seanna Boltz named an Honorable Mention All-Region selection.

In an all Kansas affair in the national championship game of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, the 10th-seeded Coffeyville Red Ravens built a 24-point second-half lead and had to hold on with everything they had to win its second-ever national championship, 108-99 over the eighth-seeded Cowley Tigers Saturday at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson, KS.

In a battle of ranked teams, No. 13-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Mavericks raced out to a big lead and never looked back in defeating No. 24-ranked Cowley College 110-96 Wednesday in the season-opener for both teams played in Tonkawa, OK.

The 2019-2020 season was a memorable one for the Cowley College men’s basketball team. After having played the toughest schedule in the country the Tigers earned earn its first bid to the NJCAA National Tournament in more than 60 years. Cowley (26-6) led the nation in scoring at 109.8 points per game and captured the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division title for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.

With their sights set on competing in the spring season, Cowley College sophomores Dalen Ridgnal and Andrea Rodriguez Oria were recently named Cowley College’s November Athletes of the Month.
