No. 25-ranked Tiger wrestlers take down No. 10-ranked Labette and Barton
The No. 25-ranked Cowley College wrestling team made a triumphant return to the mat by taking down a pair of opponents Wednesday in Great Bend. The Tigers opened with a 24-19 victory over No. 10-ranked Labette before knocking off host Barton County 38-15.
Wrestling for the first time since December 16, the Tigers showed no signs of rust while defeating the two Jayhawk Conference rivals.
Cowley wrestlers Beau Murphy (125 pounds), Aidan O'Dell (133 pounds), Ryker Agee (141 pounds), Chance Davis (165 pounds, Bryce Goucher (184 pounds), and Stefann Fearo (285 pounds) each went 2-0 at the tri-dual.
"Everyone contributed," Cowley head coach Justice Circle said. "I am really proud of how the guys took the challenge head-on and wrestled tough from top to bottom."
Cowley will have a chance to show the growth they have made throughout this season when they host a tri-dual with Colby and Neosho on Wednesday, November 17, beginning at 4 p.m.
