Tigers earn four more national qualifiers at Washburn Open

Competing Friday and Saturday at the Washburn Open in Topeka, KS, the Cowley College men's and women's indoor track and field teams had four new national qualifiers and 10 new individuals move into the programs' top-15 all-time lists.

"This weekend was another great step for our team," Cowley head coach Cameron Reith said. "We had several others right on the edge of hitting those (qualifying) marks as well, which I know some of them were a little disappointed about. However, we still have a little bit of time, and we are progressing nicely as a program."

Those hitting new national qualifying marks were members of the men's and women's distance medley relay teams, Isabella Kupka in the women's 600-yard run and Randy Coble in the men's pole vault.

Hunter Riley also performed well and finished first in the men's pole vault with a mark of 15-1.

The Cowley indoor track and field teams will prepare to participate in the Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic on Saturday, February 10. This will be the final meet of the regular season prior to the conference and region championships.
