Cowley volleyball team signs talented player from Texas

The top ranked Cowley College volleyball team has added Sadie Kabisch of Henrietta, Texas, to the roster for the upcoming 2022 season.

Kabisch, a 5-foot-4 libero/defensive specialist, prepped at Henrietta High School where she played four seasons of volleyball (three at the varsity level). In her senior season and she led her team to a 30-12 record, won the Bi-District and Area championships. During the season, she totaled 728 digs, 2.6 passer rating, 96 assists, and had 64 aces. Awards for her senior season has yet to be released.

In her junior season, she led her team to a 24-8 record and took her team to Bi-District, Area, and Regional Quarterfinal championships. For her efforts, she was named team captain, TSWA All-State Honorable Mention, TGCA All-State, All-District MVP libero, Red River Diamond Dozen player, and Academic All-District. Kabisch recorded 726 digs, 2.6 passer rating, 87 assists, and had 60 aces.

In her sophomore season, she led her team to a 24-18, took her team to Bi-District and Area Championships. For her efforts, she was named TGCA All-State, All-Distict MVP Libero, Team MVP, and Academic All-District. Kabisch recorded 818 digs, 2.5 passer rating, 50 assists, and had 57 aces.

In her three year varsity career, she totaled 2,272 digs, a 2.5 passer rating, 233 assists, and 181 aces. Also, outside of her high school training, Kabisch trained with ZIVA and WVC Clubs where she enhanced her skills to prepare herself for the college level.

"We first met Sadie at one of our camps, where she immediately caught our eye with her high volleyball IQ, strong coachability, passion for the game, and her aggressive but smooth play on defense that just has that 'wow factor'. We knew then, that we wanted her to be a part of our program at Cowley and are so proud to call her a Cowley Tiger." head coach Steven Gream said. "She is an intelligent libero/defensive specialist who can read the ball very well, who is not afraid to take a hard shot from any hitter, and has the skills that allow her to provide a quality pass to our setters on serve receive. We know she will thrive and grow as she gains more experience at the college level."

Off the volleyball court, Kabisch also competed in track for four years where she served as a sprinter and thrower. For her efforts, she was an Area Qualifier and named Academic All-District. She also played Basketball for four years where she was named Second Team All-District twice, Team MVP, and Academic All-District twice. Kabisch also was a member of the National Honor Society, PAL, UIL, and Honor Roll.

Kabisch is the daughter of Ben and Rochelle Kabisch of Henrietta, Texas.
