"We were in search of a strong and athletic outside/opposite hitter with passing skills and we found a great fit in Jerrica." head coach Steven Gream said. "Jerrica is an exceptional athlete that is very coachable, has passion for the game, and possesses a ton of energy and aggressiveness on the court. She has great athleticism, a powerful and quick arm swing, excellent ball control, and leaping ability that allows her to play at a high level. Her ability to play multiple positions is invaluable to our program in providing even more depth to our strong offense and defense."

Keener is the daughter of the late Jerry Keener and Donna Williams of Dayton, Texas.
