Cowley volleyball signs middle hitter from Texas

The back-to-back national champion Cowley College volleyball program has signed Hazel Dolff of Bellevue, Texas, to begin her college career in the fall of 2025.

Dolff, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter/opposite hitter, prepped at Henrietta High School in Henrietta, Texas, where she played two seasons of volleyball and two seasons at Friendswood High School.

In her senior season, she led her team to a 31-9 record and a Texas 3A District 7 playoff berth. For her efforts, she was named 3A District 7 Newcomer of the Year, 2024 THSCA Academic All-State Second Team, TGCA Academic All-State, Academic All-District, and was named to the Nocona Tournament – All-Tournament team.

She recorded 302 kills (team-high) at 2.7 kills per set, a .308 hitting percentage, 82 blocks (team-high), 44 digs, and six aces. Also, in 2024, she traveled to Hawaii to participate in the NoKaOi Volleyball Tournament Showcase, where her team was Silver Brackett champions. In 2023, she led her team to a Bi-District Volleyball Championship, and in 2022, she led her Houston Stellar club team to a 16U National Qualifier.

Off the volleyball court, Dolff was a member of the National Honor Society, named 2024 UIL Academic District, second place overall team, third Biology individual, and third Physics individual. She also participated in softball for one season.

Cowley head volleyball coach Steven Gream states, "Hazel was recommended to us by her coach, the mother of Cowley volleyball alum Sadie Kabisch. Coach Kabisch knew our program very well and knew that Hazel would be a great fit for our program on and off the court. We began watching films of her and were able to work with her in summer volleyball camps. We immediately knew we wanted her to be a Cowley Tiger. Hazel is a naturally talented athlete who is very hard working, dedicated, and coachable that has a quick arm swing and a keen sense for blocking. Her ability to play middle hitter and opposite hitter positions provides us with additional depth and options on set selection for her on the attack. She is a great teammate that puts the team first on and off the court and is still growing in the game. It is those characteristics and more that make her a perfect fit for us, and we are excited to have her as part of the Cowley volleyball program. We can't wait to watch her grow as she gets accustomed to the college game and adds to her strong skill set."

Dolff is the daughter of Scott Dolff and Kathy Stewart.
