Lady Tiger cross country team ranked No. 1 in DII

Making the move to NJCAA Division II has been a good decision so far for the Cowley College women's cross country team. The Lady Tigers are ranked No. 1 in week one of the NJCAA Division II National Coaches Poll.

Led by sophomore Lubna Suied winning the women's three-mile race at the season-opening Terry Masterson Twilight Classic September 4 in Hutchinson, KS, the Cowley College women's cross country team placed second out of five teams.

Lady Tiger freshman Karissa Glover shined in her debut, placing 10^th out of 50 runners with a time of 20:05.4, while sophomore Zinara Lesley (20:11.0) and freshman Sierra Saenz (20:16.5) were just behind in 11^th and 12^th place.

Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa is ranked second in the week one poll, while Grand Rapids (MI), St. Clair County (MI), and Pasco-Hernando Community College (FL) round out the top five.
