Skilled libero signs with NCAA DII Southern Arkansas University

Having developed into one of the top liberos in the NJCAA and the Jayhawk Conference, Cowley College sophomore Sadie Kabisch recently signed a letter of intent to continue her education and volleyball career at NCAA DII Southern Arkansas University.

Cowley volleyball head coach Steven Gream recruited Kabisch to come to Cowley while she was at Henrietta High School.

"I was coaching a camp and saw this aggressive libero with great ball control that just caught my eye," Gream said. I knew then, that I wanted her to come to Cowley to play for our program. She had all the aspects that we looked for in a libero in addition to her strong volleyball IQ, drive to succeed, leadership skills, and love for the game. We immediately began checking on her and recruiting her and were fortunate to have her become a Cowley Tiger. Coming to Cowley, she knew she had some learning and adjusting to do, but was humble, hungry to learn, and confident in herself to excel on a high stage. And excel she did... she improved each day and was a dominant force in our conference and in the nation to become a high caliber libero. A born leader, her teammates saw that in her and named her a team captain. SAU is getting a great volleyball player and leader that puts the team first while also working each day to improve her game and compete at a high level."

Kabisch was named a First Team All-District, First-Team all-conference, KJCCC Libero of the Year, and was named the KJCCC Division II Defensive Player of the Week multiple times.

For her career at Cowley, Kabisch recorded 849 career digs at 3.18 digs per set, 50 assists, and 33 service aces. She helped the Lady Tigers to an undefeated season by winning 41 matches in a row during the 2023 season and winning the program's third national championship.

"Being a part of the Cowley community is one of the best decisions I made," Kabisch said.  "I loved being able to play at a high level with some of the best coaches and teammates. All of the support from the community makes it feel like a second home. So thankful that I found a place like Cowley to call home for the past two years and will forever be grateful for all of the love and support from my teammates, coaches, and the community."
