Bio

2016-2017 Athlete of the Year

Griffiths transferred to Cowley as a freshman after spending her first semester at the University of Kansas. She made an immediate impact as she was named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2016 Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Outdoor Championships.

This year, she ran as part of the 4x800-meter relay team that finished as the national runner-up and broke the school record at the 2017 Indoor National Championships. She recently won the 1,500-meter run with a school-record time of 4:46.01 at the KT Woodman Classic held at Wichita State University on April 15.

Griffiths also helped the Lady Tiger cross country team capture its first region title since 2010 and place ninth nationally. She recently signed a letter of intent to continue running for the University of Kansas.

She has a 3.95 GPA, was named the school's September Athlete of the Month and is a business administration major.

"When I attended this banquet last year I hoped I would have an opportunity for the award next year, so I am excited it happened," Griffiths said. "I owe it all to coach (Dan) Adler."
