Bio

2018-2019 Athlete of the Year

Kusmuk came to Cowley from Pale, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she was a member of the Bosnia & Herzegovinan national volleyball team.

At Cowley, she was a member of the nationally ranked Lady Tiger volleyball team. The sophomore outside hitter was selected NJCAA First Team All-America, First Team AVCA All-America, First Team All-District, First Team All-Conference, NJCAA National Player of the Week, KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week four times, and was selected Cowley Athlete of the Month.

Her 658 kills in the 2018 season placed her first in Cowley history in kills in a season and her 1,182 career kills ranks her first all time in Cowley history. This past season she helped Cowley finish with a record of 33-7 and rank fourth in the final NJCAA poll, while leading the team to 73 wins over the past two seasons.

Along with volleyball, she is also involved in the International Club and serves as a Cowley tutor. She recently signed a letter of intent to continue playing volleyball at NCAA Division II Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL.

The chemistry major has a GPA of 3.77.

“I want to thank my coaches, my teammates, friends, and the (Ark City) community. I could not do this without them,” Kusmuk said.
