Trivelato lifts Tiger soccer team to 2-0 road win

The No. 3-ranked Cowley College men's soccer team came back from its first loss of the season on Wednesday to defeat Kansas City Kansas Community College 2-0 Saturday in Kansas City, KS. The Tigers got a pair of goals from sophomore Caique Trivelato as they improved their record to 6-1 on the season.

Trivelato, who leads the Tigers with five goals on the season, got the scoring started only five minutes into Saturday's contest as he would score off an assist from Yuto Toyoizumi.

"We scored the early goal thanks to a good offensive action play, and that gave us the confidence to control the game," Cowley head coach Ruy Vaz said.

Despite being in control throughout, Cowley could not pull away from the Blue Devils. Finally, with five minutes remaining, Trivelato put the game on ice as he scored his second goal off an assist from Manuel Vale.

"It was a good game for us, but at times we got lethargic because we had the ball so much," Vaz said.

Cowley out-shot KCK 12-3 as Tiger goalkeeper Rafael Furlani recorded his third shutout of the season.

Cowley (6-1 overall, 1-1 Jayhawk West) will now prepare for another difficult road test when they play at Neosho County Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Panthers are 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Jayhawk East.

"Now we must focus on having a good preparation for Neosho," Vaz said. "They have a very aggressive team, and we need to be prepared for a tough match."
