Cowley women’s tennis team sweeps opening round of region tournament
The No. 2-ranked Cowley College women’s tennis team got off to a dominating start to the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships on Wednesday in Pratt, KS. The Lady Tigers got wins from all six singles players and their three doubles teams.
The No. 2-ranked Cowley College women's tennis team got off to a dominating start to the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships on Wednesday in Pratt, KS. The Lady Tigers got wins from all six singles players and their three doubles teams.
The Lady Tigers did not drop a set in the opening round and did not lose a game in five of the matches.
After receiving a bye in the first round of No. 6 singles, Lady Tiger freshman Kendra Arostegui defeated Pratt's Imara Achala 6-0, 6-0 in the region title match.
The remainder of Cowley's singles and doubles teams will play for region titles on Thursday.

*No. 3 – Cynthia Wanjala/Naghely Garcia Galian (CC) received a bye in the first round; defeated Petersille/Pauly (Pratt) 6-0, 6-0 in the region title match.
