National champs to conduct several summer camps and clinics
The back-to-back national champion Cowley College volleyball team will host several camps and clinics over the summer of 2025.
The back-to-back national champion Cowley College volleyball team will host several camps and clinics over the summer of 2025. These include a junior high/middle school camp on July 26, a high school camp on July 28, a defense/passing/serving camp on July 29, a setter/hitter camp on July 30, a college ID/elite high school camp on July 31, and satellite camps for the months of May, June, and July. The 2025 camps will be directed by the Cowley College coaching staff, which includes AVCA and NJCAA DII National Coach of the Year Steven Gream and AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year Lana Milner.
Junior high/middle school camp – July 26
This camp will cover all aspects of the game. The one-day camp will cover the understanding of volleyball rules, rotations, strategies, and passing, setting, serving, and hitting skills. This camp is recommended for grades 5-8. Time of camp: 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., five hours of instruction for $90.
High School Camp – July 28
This camp is designed for 9th- 12th graders and will cover all aspects of the game. The camp will cover the understanding of rotations, general volleyball rules, passing, setting, serving, and hitting mechanics. The athlete will receive five hours of instruction. This camp is recommended for grades 9-12. Time of camp: 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., five hours of instruction for $100.
Defense/Passing/Serving Camp – July 29
This camp is for athletes learning the advanced skills of defense, passing, and serving. Athletes will be taught the correct skills for each skill to succeed and play at a high level. Each skill will be broken down to enhance the development of the camper. This camp is recommended for grades 8-12. Time of camp: 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., five hours of instruction for $90.
Setter/Hitter Camp – July 30
This camp is for athletes learning advanced skills in setting and hitting positions. Athletes will be taught the correct skills for each skill to succeed and play at a high level. Each skill will be broken down to enhance the development of the camper. This camp is recommended for grades 8-12. Time of camp: 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., five hours of instruction for $90.
College ID/Elite High School Camp - July 31
This camp offers comprehensive instruction for athletes who wish to do more advanced training with a desire to compete at the collegiate level. Players with high-level skills who are interested in playing at the collegiate level, this camp is for you! The camp is structured to show campers what it takes to play at the collegiate volleyball level. The following areas will be instructed: skills development, offensive and defensive team systems, specialized position instruction, and, if numbers allow, intra-squad play. The camp will also include a Q&A session with our current Cowley College Volleyball coaches and players for parents and players to ask about Cowley, the college game, and recruiting. Time of camp: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1:30-4:30 p.m. Six hours of instruction for $100.
Satellite Camps
If your summer schedule does not allow you and your team to travel to our "on-campus" camps/clinics, you can bring the volleyball camp to you. We can come to your school and provide a 1, 2, or 3-day camp at your gym. You supply the net(s), the balls, and a minimum of 10 campers. Camp instruction is based on what you, the coach, need for your program - individual skills, position-specific skills, team concepts, etc. Dates fill up fast, so hurry to book your camp. All campers will need to bring workout gear and athletic shoes. Lunch will not be provided. All on-campus clinic sessions will be held in W.S. Scott Auditorium. All sessions are open to family and friends to watch. All camps/clinics and the tournament must be paid in full before starting the camp/clinic and tournament.
