Tiger tennis teams open fall slate in Lawton, OK
With the Cowley College women's tennis team coming off its first-ever national championship in the spring and the Tiger men's tennis team finishing as the national runner-up only one season after capturing the title, the Cowley men's and women's tennis teams kicked off its fall tennis schedule by taking part in the Billingsley Family of Dealerships Tennis Invite Friday and Saturday in Lawton, OK.
Along with host Cameron University, the individual tournament included MSU-Texas along with Cowley College and Seward County Community College.
First-year Cowley College head tennis coach Marcel Miasato was pleased with what he saw from his squads.
"It was a great tournament to start the fall," Miasato said. "We had some really good matches against really good schools. We are going to continue the hard work and keep moving forward."

Draw 1
*Dan Hosono (CC) won the first match against Bredan Lock (Cameron) 1-6, 6-6-2, 10-3; lost in the semifinal to Samuele Antwi ( Seward) 6-4 6-3; and lost the third/fourth place match against Martin Hlavacek (Cameron) 6-7,6-1, 10-7.
*Filipe Leguizamon (CC) lost the first round 6-1, 6-2 against Bruno Sanchez; lost in the back draw against David Roseler (Seward) 6-2, 4-6, 10-4.

*Juwan Bae (CC) won the first match 1-6, 6-0, 10-8 against Jose Marquez (MSU); lost in the semifinal against Philip Kamara (6-2, 6-3); lost in the third/fourth place match to Bruno Sanchez 6-3, 7-5.

*Eduardo Andrade (CC) lost the first match 6-1, 0-6, 10-8 to Raphel Valente (Cameron); won the back draw, defeating Pavle Markus ( Seward) 6-2, 6-3, and Rowan Olsen (MSU) 7-6(5), 1-6, 10-2.
*Isaac Rondon (CC) lost the first match to Juand David Duque (MSU) 2-6, 7-5, 10-5; lost the second match against Rowan Olsen (MSU) 6-3, 6-2.

*Miguel De Carvalho (CC) won the first match against Juan Luzaga (Seward) 6-4, 6-3; lost the semifinal to Rhys Edwards (Cameron) 6-3, 6-0; won the third/fourth place match against Xavier Dilenga (Seward).
