Andres-Dougan breaks school-record in 110-meter hurdles

Cowley College sophomore Diego Andres-Dougan highlighted the list of Tiger athletes competing this past weekend at the Wichita State University KT Woodman Classic. Andres-Dougan placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 14.52. Andres-Dougan previously shared the school-record time of 14.57 with Bryan Jasmin.

Andres-Dougan was one of four national qualifiers on the men's side, including Santiago Nunez in the 5,000-meter run, and Joel Rodriguez and Aidan Wells in the 10,000-meter run.

The Lady Tigers were led by Kayla McClellan placing seventh in the discus with a national qualifying mark of 145-4, while Karissa Glover qualified for nationals in the 5,000-meter run by eclipsing her previous personal best time by 45 seconds.

"These athletes really showed up big and competed well," Cowley head coach Cameron Rieth said. "Some of the events were hampered by high winds, but I like the way we competed.

Cowley will be back in action Saturday at 9 a.m. when they take part in the Grizzly Classic in El Dorado, KS.

"We look forward to keeping things rolling," Rieth said.
