Cowley had an eye-popping 19 service aces in the victory, with nine of them coming from sophomore Landry Cate.

"When we are putting pressure on people, good things will happen," Gream said. "Landry is a force in our serving arsenal. She had the ball moving well and placed right; it was her night."

Rachele Tessari led Cowley with 11 kills, while Anna Kiss added nine kills. Sophomore Marcella Erichsen gave the team a lift off the bench as she finished with seven kills.

"It was nice to see Marcella put her hard work into action against Hesston," Gream said. "I thought Marcella and all of our subs did a good job when they came in."
