Kiss signs with NCAA Division I Bradley University

After rising to be one of the top outside hitters in the NJCAA and leading Cowley to its third national championship, sophomore Anna Kiss recently signed a letter of intent to continue her education and volleyball career at NCAA DI Bradley University.

Cowley volleyball head coach Steven Gream recruited Kiss out of Hungary to come to Cowley.

"We were coming home from our national runner-up finish in 2021 and was thinking about how we could replace our All-American outside hitter and Cowley kills leader Iva Halacheva. I talked to one of our players about anyone they would recommend and Anna was recommended to us. We immediately began contact with her and got film of her playing. We saw an aggressive hitter with a solid serve who could hit on either pin. I knew then, that I wanted her to come to Cowley to play for our program. She had all the aspects that we looked for in a pin hitter in addition to her drive to succeed and love for the game. We immediately began talking to her on zoom in our recruitment of her and were fortunate to have her become a Cowley Tiger. Coming to Cowley, she knew she had some learning and adjusting to do. Our way of playing was much faster and different than she was used to in Hungary. We switched her from opposite hitter to outside hitter and she took off in our system. Anna improved each day and was a dominant force in our conference and in the nation to become an amazing outside hitter. Bradley is getting a great volleyball player who works each day to improve her game and compete at a high level."

Kiss was named NJCAA Second Team All-American, VolleyballMag.com All-American, Plains A District First Team All-District, KJCCC First Team All-Conference, NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week, and KJCCC Offensive Player of the week multiple times. She also got the great experience of leading and competing to win a national championship.

For her career at Cowley, Kiss recorded 1,000 career kills (fourth all time in Cowley history) at 3.80 kills per set, a .330 hitting percentage, 151 service aces, and 445 digs. She helped the Lady Tigers to an undefeated season by winning 41 matches in a row during the 2023 season and winning the program's third national championship.

"I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to come to Cowley," Kiss said. "I feel like I found a second family here, that helped me through my ups and downs. The friendships that I made at Cowley will last forever. I am so thankful for my coaches for always believing in me and helping me to reach my goals."
