
Darvas and Bonomi continue to rack up the weekly honors
Following last week’s match between the top two ranked teams in NJCAA Division II volleyball, Cowley’s Laura Bonomi and Hanna Darvas, along with Johnson County’s Carlie Martin, have been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Volleyball Players of the Week.

Cowley (21-0) easily defeated Johnson County in straight sets to run its winning streak to 63 matches in a row.
This marks the fifth straight week that Darvas has been named the Setter of the Week, while Bonomi was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Martin was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Bonomi personally controlled the main offensive categories on the week by averaging 4.67 kills per set and 1.33 service aces per set. The sophomore also averaged 4.33 digs per set and passed a 2.47 passer rating on the week. She recorded six service aces against Labette and eight service aces on the week. Recorded double-doubles in both matches last week with 16 kills and 11 digs against Labette and 12 kills and 15 digs against #2 Johnson County. For the season, Bonomi has 12 double-doubles out of Cowley's 21 matches on the season and 33 in her Cowley career. Leads KJCCC Division 2 volleyball in kills per set (4.38), second in total kills (289) while also ranking in the top five in hitting % (.401). Bonomi also ranks 11th in the NJCAA in Kills per set and points per set.
Darvas averaged 13.33 assists per set against #2 Johnson County while also averaging 4.67 digs per set in a 3-0 win over the number two ranked Cavaliers in a battle of the top two teams in NJCAA Division 2. The freshman recorded her fifth double-double of the season against number two Johnson County with 40 assists and 14 digs and is leading a Cowley offense that leads the NJCAA in Kills per set (15.12), total assists (14.48), hitting percentage (.343), and points per set (19.3). Darvas leads the NJCAA and the KJCCC in Assists per set (12.28) and total assists (786).
