"Laura is an extraordinary athlete who came to our program with great athleticism and grit to compete at a high level," Cowley head coach Steven Gream said. "She adjusted to the college game and became one of the best outside hitters in the nation to help us win a national championship in 2023. This season, Laura took on the leadership role of captain and enhanced her skill set to play at an even higher level than she did her freshman year. She has great court awareness and discipline, along with her great leaping ability, quickness, consistency, and aggressiveness. These attributes, along with her great leadership as a captain, allowed us to repeat as national champions."
Bonomi was named the 2024 NJCAA Division II National Championship Most Valuable Player after scoring 66.5 points as the Tigers only dropped one set en route to the national title. Additionally, Bonomi was honored as the KJCCC Player of the Year and selected for First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference.
