The Cowley College men’s basketball team bounced back from a pair of tough defeats to gain momentum heading into Christmas Break by rallying from a nine-point second-half deficit to win 79-71 Monday at Garden City Community College.

Seward rallies to outlast Cowley in overtime, 90-87

The Seward County Saints rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit against Cowley College Saturday in Arkansas City as Mario Whitley’s basket, just before the buzzer, forced overtime. The Saints would out-score Cowley 13-10 in the extra session to earn the 90-87 road win.

Jackson is eager for improvement in year two at the helm

Having amassed a .720 winning percentage during his eight seasons as head coach at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, Donnie Jackson has been accustomed to winning. So, you can imagine it was tough on the head coach to go 16-16 in his first year as head men’s basketball coach at Cowley College. Jackson is determined to have his team improve on last season’s record as he enters year two in charge of the program.
