Helping the Cowley College women’s soccer team capture the Plains District title and advance to its first-ever national tournament, sophomores Lea Evin and Fenja Leibner recently signed letters of intent to continue their soccer careers at four-year schools.

After shaking off the nerves of playing in the program’s first-ever game at the national tournament, the No. 11-seeded Cowley College women’s soccer team showed they belonged amongst the nation’s best teams by defeating second-seeded Seminole State College (OK) 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, KS.

Having already defeated the 17th-ranked Cowley College women’s soccer team by a 3-2 score earlier this season in Arkansas City, the No. 16-ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College Lady Blue Devils completed the season-sweep with a 2-1 home win over the Lady Tigers on Saturday.

Wrapping up the regular season with games against three straight ranked opponents, the No. 16-ranked Cowley College women’s soccer team did a good job of not looking ahead in a 3-1 win at Coffeyville on Saturday.

Facing last place Seward County Wednesday at the Mark A. Phillips Athletic Complex, the No. 16-ranked Cowley College women’s soccer team, got goals from five players in the 5-0 home win.

For the second time in as many games, the No. 18-ranked Cowley College women’s soccer team trailed late in the contest before rallying.

The No. 18-ranked Cowley College women’s soccer team improved its record to 2-0 in the Jayhawk Conference with a 2-0 win over first-year soccer program Seward County Wednesday in Liberal, KS.

Playing its first game of the season, the Lady Tigers fought back and eventually won 3-2 over Garden City.
