With the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships approaching on May 1-3, the nationally ranked Cowley College men’s and women’s track and field teams were spread across three different meets this past week.

The nationally ranked Cowley College men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams had three new national qualifiers and several personal best performances while competing on Friday and Saturday at the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State University.

On Saturday, nine teams came to Arkansas City, KS, to participate in the Mark A Phillips Tiger Invite. Honoring the late coach’s memory, the Cowley College men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams combined for six event wins and five new national qualifiers.

Led by three All-Americans, the Cowley College men’s indoor track and field team placed 22nd at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships held Friday and Saturday at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.

Led by sophomore Alex Delgado del Castillo breaking the school record in the heptathlon, the Cowley College men’s track and field team placed third in the conference and sixth in the region at the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Indoor Championships held on Saturday and Sunday at Pittsburg State University.

With the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships only days away, the nationally ranked Cowley College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed at the region venue on Friday, February 14, while participating in the Russ Jewett Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, KS.

With the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships less than two weeks away, the nationally ranked Cowley College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams recently participated in the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Invitational on Friday in Maryville, MO.

The Cowley College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams had solid performances while opening the season at the Rust Buster on Friday at Washburn University in Topeka, KS.
